Generative AI Policy
Skywolf Game Studios is a solo operation. We aren't obligated to disclose our internal tools or workflow, but we're choosing to be upfront about generative AI as a matter of principle. This policy explains, in plain language, where and how these tools are used in our work, where they are not used, and the commitments we hold ourselves to.
Last updated: August 2026.
Where AI assists
As a solo studio without a full team, generative AI tools are used to assist with:
- Writing, debugging, and refactoring game code and website code
- Building and maintaining internal tooling, workflows, and this website
- Editing and tightening marketing copy, devlogs, and documentation
- Research, troubleshooting, and general productivity support
In every case, output is reviewed, edited, and approved by a human before it ships. AI is treated as an assistant, not an author.
Where it doesn't touch
Game design, writing, and 3D art — including every CC0Tree asset — are conceived and produced by hand. AI is not used to generate models, stories, or core design decisions for our games or for CC0Tree. Skywolf Game Studios retains full authorship and ownership of this creative work regardless of what tools were used in its production or delivery.
AI-generated 3D models
Separate from CC0Tree and our core game asset library, we have experimented with fully AI-generated 3D models as their own distinct offering, shared through Patreon and YouTube. Any model that is AI-generated is always clearly disclosed as such at the point it's shared. We will never present AI-generated work as hand-made, and it is never mixed into CC0Tree or our core game assets without that being stated upfront.
Our commitments
We will not use generative AI in ways that:
- Replace human creative work or misrepresent generated content as fully hand-made
- Cut corners at the expense of quality — what we'd consider AI slop
- Put players, supporters, or their data at unnecessary risk
- Displace people or devalue the craft this studio is built on
Third-party tools
Generative AI tools used in our workflow are provided by third-party vendors and are subject to those vendors' own terms of service and privacy policies. We select tools we consider reputable, but we do not control and are not responsible for the underlying providers' practices.
A note on where this is headed
We expect the role of these tools, and how they're disclosed industry-wide, to keep evolving. Our approach is to stay useful and honest rather than reactive — this policy will be updated as our practices, available tools, or platform requirements change.
